The village is the seat of the Kołbaskowo Commune. It is located 10 km from Szczecin, at the former Kołbaskowo-Pomellen border crossing with Germany. National Road No. 13 runs through the village, on the Szczecin – Kołbaskowo – Rosówek section, further to Schwedt/Oder, and nearby is the A6 Szczecin – Berlin motorway, which used to be a border crossing.
